Kassandra's Legacy: The Potential Return in Assassin's Creed Shadows

The highly anticipated launch of Assassin's Creed Shadows is just around the corner. Scheduled for release on March 20, this new installment will be accessible on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S after facing some delays. The game introduces two fresh main characters, Naoe, a skilled shinobi, and Yasuke, a fierce samurai. However, their presence may not be the only highlight, as previous heroes from the franchise could also make a return.

Historically, most entries in the Assassin's Creed series focus on unique protagonists. Nonetheless, there have been instances where characters have crossed into different titles, with the latest trend pointing towards Kassandra from Assassin's Creed Odyssey. Following the events of that game’s downloadable content, Kassandra achieved a form of immortality in the series' lore, granted she retains possession of the Staff of Hermes Trismegistus. This aspect allowed her to make a brief appearance in Assassin's Creed Valhalla, and it creates an opportunity for her to emerge in a Feudal Japan setting as well.

In addressing the possibility of Kassandra's return, the creative director for Shadows and Odyssey commented on her status during this era. He indicated that Kassandra is still alive, roaming the world and remaining hidden in the shadows.

While it seems Kassandra might not play a major role in the overall narrative of Shadows, her existence implies that an appearance reminiscent of her role in Valhalla could occur.
